    It’s three hours
    too early
    As the alarm clock beeps;
    We manage to roll
    out of bed
    — Though we’re still half asleep.

    Parents give lectures
    And teachers set rules
    As we try to survive
    Each day of high school.

    Our friends keep
    us going.
    The homework’s
    no fun.
    There’s sleep
    But life’s only begun.

    Our backpacks
    are heavy.
    Junk food is the best.

  • 'True Grit' remake doesn’t disappoint

“True Grit” (2010) — This remake of the classic 1969 John Wayne film is directed by the Coen brothers and tells the tale of a young woman, Mattie Ross (played by Hailee Steinfeld), seeking revenge against her father’s murderer. In an effort to track the alleged killer, Mattie hires a man with “true grit” named Rooster Cogburn (played by Jeff Bridges).

  • Staff, students cope with LAHS construction

The single word, “construction” brings bittersweet feelings to members of Los Alamos High School, but is it really an inconvenience? At the beginning of the year, many complained and found problems with the conditions, but as more time passes, many are welcoming the change with open arms.
Construction has been going on since April of 2010 and is expected to continue until the end of the year.
The high school’s office staff is relieved to find that the project is only a week behind schedule.
