Utilities investigate cause of power outage

-A A +A

A power outage in sections of White Rock, Los Alamos Western Area and other parts of the county that started at 2:54 a.m. Friday morning is still under investigated by the Los Alamos Department of Public Utilities.

Power was restored to all areas of the county by 6 a.m., according to BPU Spokeswoman Julie Williams-Hill.

One of the two power feeders for the county stopped working, forcing crews to feed power from the working feeder to the blacked-out areas, Williams-Hill said, but the cause remains unknown.

“Crews are still investigating the cause. Once known, a permanent repair will undertaken,” Williams-Hill said.
