County Council

The Los Alamos County Council will hold a work session at 7 p.m. Tuesday at White Rock Fire Station No. 3.


There will be a June meeting for the Major General Franklin E. Miles Chapter 229 of The Military Order of the World Wars featuring guest speaker Captain Deborah Kash. at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Los Alamos Research Park.

Lunch With a Leader

The League of Women Voters, Lunch with a Leader will have Tarin Nix and Ellen Morris Bond presenting information about the “living wage” and how that might be implemented in Los Alamos. Fire Talk

At 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Fuller Lodge, Teralene Foxx will present a talk, “The 1977 La Mesa Fire: A Wake-up Call?” The talk is co-sponsored by the Los Alamos Historical Society and Bandelier National Monument. The following day at 5:30, Foxx will lead a walk on the Burnt Mesa trail to long-term study plots In an area burned by that fire. The walk is co-sponsored by Bandelier National Monument and the Pajarito Environmental Education Center. The talk and the walk are both free, with no reservations needed.
