Ski areas pick up plenty of snow

Almost all New Mexico ski areas reported getting at least six inches of snow out of the recent storm.
Pajarito Mountain reported getting seven inches of snow as of 5:28 a.m., making its total reported base eight inches. An opening date for Pajarito still hasn’t been announced.
One of the big winners out of the storm was Sandia Peak near Albuquerque, which reported 21 inches at 6:03 a.m. Sandia Peak, which has already pushed back its opening day once this season, also has not announced when its season will start.
The only area that did not report receiving at least half a foot of snow was the Valles Caldera. The Valles Caldera, which hosts cross-country skiing and snowshoeing, did not report its conditions this morning, but reported five inches of snow as of 4:50 p.m. Thursday.

Girls hoops game vs. Piedra Vista postponed

Los Alamos Public Schools announced tonight’s girls basketball games at Piedra Vista have been postponed.
Traveling conditions were blamed for the postponement. No announcement has been made whether the games will be rescheduled.
