Little League baseball, softball spring workouts scheduled for this week

Spring training sessions and tryouts for Los Alamos Little League baseball and softball are scheduled for this week.
Tryout sessions for LALL’s majors baseball division will be Monday and Wednesday. Both sessions will be from 5:30-7 p.m. at Lou Caveglia Field. Anyone interested in playing majors baseball this season that hasn’t already tried out must attend one of these sessions.
For softball, spring training sessions are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday. Both spring trainings will be from 5:30-7 p.m. at Bun Ryan Field on North Mesa.

Church looking for donated soccer equipment

Soccer equipment for children in the country of Uganda is being collected at the Crossroads Bible Church.
The church is located at 97 East Road in Los Alamos. Donations can be made there or at Time Out Pizza in White Rock. Equipment such as balls, shoes, jerseys, shorts and shin guards are being requested.

Isotopes tickets now on sale for 2013 season

Tickets for individual Albuquerque Isotopes home games are now on sale.
The Isotopes are the Triple-A farm team for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Their home-opening game is scheduled for April 4.
This season, 15 fireworks nights are scheduled, along with numerous game-day promotions.

Roadrunners start their season April 2

The Atomic City Roadrunners running club will start its 40th Pace Race season with a run April 2.
The first Pace Race of the season will begin at the Canyon Rim Trail parking lot off N.M. 502. Race time is 6 p.m.
Pace Races are a weekly event held Tuesdays between April and early October. They include 1- and 3-mile runs and walks at various locations around Los Alamos County.

LAHS seeking “Rally4Rewards” votes

Los Alamos High School, along with other schools in the state, is taking part in the New Mexico Activities Association’s “Rally4Rewards” program.
In the NMAA program, one school from each of the state’s classifications will receive part of a $15,000 donation from U.S. Bank. Winners of the donation will be determined by an online or drop-off vote.
Voters can place their votes online at facebook.com/usbank/app_471367646245378 or in any U.S. Bank branch office. Schools will earn more points for drop-off votes than for online votes.
