Church collecting used soccer equipment

Soccer equipment for children in the country of Uganda is being collected at the Crossroads Bible Church.
The church is located at 97 East Road in Los Alamos. Donations can be made there or at Time Out Pizza in White Rock.
Equipment such as balls, shoes, jerseys, shorts and shin guards are being requested.

Pace Race season starts April 2

The Atomic City Roadrunners running club will start its 40th Pace Race season with a run April 2.
The first Pace Race of the season will begin at the Canyon Rim Trail parking lot off N.M. 502. Race time is 6 p.m.
Pace Races are a weekly event held Tuesdays between April and early October. They include 1- and 3-mile runs and walks at various locations around Los Alamos County.

Recreation division has Facebook page

Los Alamos County’s recreation division now has its own Facebook page.
The page will have information on upcoming events, programs and cancelations.

Fans can vote for Los Alamos High School to share in rewards program

Los Alamos High School, along with other schools in the state, is taking part in the New Mexico Activities Association’s “Rally4Rewards” program.
In the NMAA program, one school from each of the state’s classifications will receive part of a $15,000 donation from U.S. Bank.
Winners of the donation will be determined by an online or drop-off vote.
Voters can place their votes online at facebook.com/usbank/app_47136764645378 or in any U.S. Bank branch office.
Schools will earn more points for drop-off votes than for online votes.
