Multi-sport: The first training session is Wednesday, clinic is offered beforehand

By The Staff

With the Los Alamos Triathlon less than two months away, participants will likely want to start training.
With that in mind, the Los Alamos Triatomics multi-sport clubs will begin their training series, the Splash ‘n’ Dash, starting Wednesday at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center.
The Splash ‘n’ Dash is designed for triathlon competitors in mind. The Splash ‘n’ Dash features a run-swim-run format. Participants may choose a longer or shorter course.
The event is timed but is non-competitive. The main objective is to give participants a snapshot of their levels of preparedness for the Los Alamos Triathlon and other multi-sport events.
The Splash ‘n’ Dash is free, but pre-registration must be done starting at 6:20 p.m. at the Walkup Center. It is limited to 75 participants.
Along with Wednesday’s Splash ‘n’ Dash, others are set for July 11, July 25 and Aug. 8.
For the first Splash ‘n’ Dash, the Triatomics will host a free clinic featuring triathlon veterans Jerri Sullivan and Sanna Sevanto. Sullivan and Sevanto will talk about equipment setup and mental preparation.
The clinic is free and open to the public regardless of whether they’re participating in the Splash ‘n’ Dash. The clinic is mainly targeted for people who are competing in their first triathlon.
