SOC LLC has been awarded a contract to continue providing protective force services at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The contract is for three years with two one-year extensions and has a value of about $251 million.

OC LLC, operating as SOC Los Alamos, has provided protective force services for Los Alamos for more than a decade.

The company was previously known as Protection Technology Los Alamos (PTLA).

Its current contract runs through Dec. 22, with the new contract to begin the following day.

“Congratulations to the entire SOC-LA management team. The protective forces at Los Alamos have performed admirably over many years, securing our critical national security interests, our property and our people,” said Associate Director Mike Lansing of LANL’s Security and Safeguards. “The rigorous selection process used will ensure that the best-qualified leadership team will continue that well-earned legacy.”

“We’re pleased to award this contract,” said Kevin Smith, NNSA Los Alamos Site Office manager. “It is vitally important that Los Alamos National Laboratory have the highest quality in protective services. We look forward to SOC continuing that high standard.”

The competitive process for selecting a protective force provider began more than 18 months ago and included a formal evaluation of several companies that had responded to a request for proposal from the laboratory.
