By The Staff

With half the Splash ‘n’ Dash schedule over, it appears local athletes Clay Moseley and Gabe Katko are among those who are in pretty good shape.
The Splash ‘n’ Dash is a bi-weekly event held during the summer months. The non-competitive races are geared for those trying to get in shape for the mid-August Los Alamos Triathlon and are hosted by the Los Alamos Triatomics multi-sport club.
Both Moseley and Katko were the fastest finishers in the first Splash ‘n’ Dash June 25, then finished as runners-up in Wednesday’s event.
The next event is scheduled for July 25. All the events are free but day-of registration is required and they are limited to 75 competitors.
There are two courses in each Splash ‘n’ Dash. The short course consists of a 200-yard swim at the Larry R. Walkup Aquatic Center followed by a 3K run and the long course features a 400-yard swim and a 5K run. Competitors can mix-and-match those if they wish.
For more information about the Splash ‘n’ Dash or the Triatomics, visit the club’s website at triatomics.org.
