The New Mexico Outdoor Expo is scheduled for Aug. 16-17.
The expo, which features several outdoor activity stations for the whole family, will start at 9 a.m. on day one and 10 a.m. on the second day. It will be held at the Albuquerque Shooting Range Park, which is located on Atrisco Vista Road, which is off I-40 at the top of Nine Mile Hill.
Children and adults can learn about firearm and archery target shooting, as well as casting, fly tying and fishing for catfish.
Scheduled for the event are several free exhibits, kayak instructions, a climbing wall and more.
Firearms experts will be on-hand to teach expo-goers how to safely fire a muzzleloader, shotgun, rifle or pistol. All shooting ranges will be overseen by certified hunter education instructors using New Mexico Department of Game and Fish firearms and bows.
Safety measures will be in place at the expo for anyone attempting shooting activities.
There will also be a large aquarium loaded with fish for novice anglers to practice their skills.
The expo is free to the public.
