Yvon Loretto, 60, of Nambe Pueblo was charged by a grand jury Feb. 22 with three counts of aggravated sexual abuse, federal officials announced Wednesday.

The FBI, with the assistance of the U.S. Bureau of Indian Affairs, arrested Loretto in Nambe Pueblo March 7. Loretto appeared in U.S. District Court in Albuquerque and was ordered held pending trial.

The charges allege Loretto sexually abused one boy under 12 years old in Rio Arriba County sometime between 2014 and 2016, and sexually abused another boy under the age of 12 in Rio Arriba County between September 2015 and September 2016.

The FBI is asking the public for any information they may have about Loretto's contact with minors. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Albuquerque Office of the FBI at 505-889-1300.

The public is reminded that charges in an indictment are merely allegations and defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
