Those who wish to attend the Tuesday night county council meeting should note that there’s been a change in venue.

Originally scheduled to be held at the community building, the meeting will instead be held at the town hall in White Rock. As usual, the meeting begins at 7 p.m.

The meeting will begin with three items on the presentations, proclamations and recognitions portion of the agenda. Local resident Kerry Coffelt will be recognized for his participation as an umpire in the Little League Softball Regional and World Series. Also, per Council Vice Chair Mike Wismer’s request, the youth mobilizers will present councilors with results from the teen survey. Rounding out that portion of the agenda will be recognition honoring the county for receiving the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Business Civic Leadership Center and Siemen’s Corporation National Sustainable Community Award.

There is only one item listed on the consent agenda and that’s an approval between Los Alamos County and CIGNA Group Insurance for Basic Life, AD&D and voluntary life insurance for the county.

One public hearing will also be held. The hearing will focus on an ordinance enabling the county administrator or his designee to execute residential rental agreements with the tenants of Los Alamos Apartments.

Three business items will also be handled Tuesday night. The first is review and approval of the Citizen Steering Committee Vision Statement and Guidelines for the siting of a municipal building.

The second is the presentation of a multi-year maintenance program for the tennis courts.

The last is the adoption of the FY 2010 budget.

In addition, one appointment will be made to the Environmental Sustainability Board.
