McCamley to visit UNM-LA today

 New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions Secretary Designate Bill McCamley will visit the University of New Mexico-Los Alamos today to meet with CEO Cynthia Rooney, Los Alamos National Laboratory’s Kathy Keith and business leaders.

McCamley will make the stop as part of a tour of northern New Mexico as he meets with education and business leaders in the region.

McCamley plans to continue his efforts to reach out to communities around the state regarding job creation and how the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions can provide more assistance, according to a release from the department. 

Today, he will be in Española to meet with economic developers and business leaders and then on to Los Alamos to discuss the governor’s vision for community colleges and how they can improve educational opportunities in health care.  

“Governor Lujan Grisham is entering this new year with a goal to make sure every New Mexican has the opportunity to get a good job that every family can be proud in every area,” McCamley said. “The Governor cares deeply about families and businesses in rural New Mexico, and state agency representatives will be in Rio Arriba and Los Alamos Counties early and often.”

The meeting in Española will include a local one stop, Provost from Northern New Mexico University Ivan Lopez Hurtada, Santa Clara Development Corporation CEO Elija Baca, and Sikh Community Leaders Hari Jiwan Singh Khalsa and Daya Singh Khalsa.

In Los Alamos McCamley will meet with Rooney, director of Community Partnerships at Los Alamos National Laboratories Kathy Keith and additional business leaders.
