She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. Her education continued at Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., where she obtained her teaching credentials; she taught at Clark Township High School near Franklin.

Margaret married Harold Donivan Webb on Aug. 15, 1937, in Franklin, Ind. They moved around the country, and settled in Urbana, Ill., in 1947, where Harold was a professor of electrical engineering at the University of Illinois. Margaret was an excellent vocalist and cello player, and was active in many social activities, including the Friday Review book club, the garden club, the EE wives club and travel club. She was also active in helping her children in scouting and school activities.

Margaret returned to college in 1963, and received a master’s in library sciences from the University of Illinois in 1966. She was on the staff of the University Library until she retired in 1981 with the rank of associate professor.

Margaret and Harold traveled extensively. Margaret accompanied her husband on three sabbaticals: to Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif., in 1960; to Arecibo, Puerto Rico, in 1967; and to Sydney, Australia, in 1974. They traveled to all of the United States, often accompanied by their children or grandchildren. They also went on an African safari; visited Margaret’s brother in Cairo, Egypt; visited the Great Wall of China; toured Bangkok and other Asian cities; and traveled throughout Europe.

Margaret moved to Clark-Lindsey in 1997, and delighted in the wonderful friends she had there. She loved to sing and always joined the crowd around the piano.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; her husband; and one daughter, Sharon Webb Sticha of Columbia Md. She is survived by her son, Steve Webb, of Costa Mesa, Calif.; her daughter Patricia Muirhead of Indio, Calif.; and her daughter Diana Webb of Los Alamos, N.M.
