Dear Editor,

The Rev. John Cullinan has done a serious disservice to our community by writing his disingenuous attack letter against “Obsession: Radical Islam’s War Against the West.” (Oct. 16)

Compare his propaganda to the opening titles of this film: “’The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.’ – Edmund Burke (1729-1797) Irish philosopher, statesman.” “This is a film about Radical Islamic terror. A dangerous ideology, fueled by religious hatred. It’s important to remember most Muslims are peaceful and do not support terror. This is not a film about them. This is a film about a radical worldview, and the threat it poses to us all, Muslim and non-Muslim alike.”

If Rev. Cullinan has actually watched this film, how could he, in good conscience, write his letter, especially his second paragraph?   And if he wrote his letter without first studying the film for himself, he has disgraced himself as a “religious professional” and sullied the reputation of the Unitarian Church of Los Alamos for the sake of his liberal politics.

Please seek out and view this film for yourself and make your own judgment about it. Its message is of primary importance to us in our time and to the future survival of our nation and our civilization.
