Join the Los Alamos Mountaineers for their annual Christmas meeting at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday in Fuller Lodge. This meeting includes a potluck dinner with Bob’s Bodacious barbecue brisket and a potpourri slide show by LAM members. In addition to the brisket, cake and drinks will be provided by the LAM. The LAM board members are encouraging club members to bring a potluck side dish to complement the meal, as well as their own plates and utensils. Dinner will be served at 7 p.m. There is no charge for members to attend this dinner meeting. Non-members are asked to become members for $15/single or $20/family.
The potpourri slide show will begin at 8 p.m. and will include six 10-minute talks given by LAM members, which describe the following trips and treks, areas and feats:
Momo Vuyisich, “The Southwest in Different Light”
Ross and Nancy Lemons, “Biking the Oregon and Northern California Coast”
Erik Shores, “Trekking from Thimphu to Paro, Bhutan”
Jeri Sullivan, “China Jaunt”
Lori Bonds Lopez, “Alaskan River Adventure”
Bill Priedhorsky, “Scottish Lakes High Camp, Washington”
The December meeting is the time for annual membership renewal.
There will be a membership table set up. Checks (payable to the Los Alamos Mountaineers) or cash are acceptable. LAM monthly meetings are always open to the public, and members do not need to be Los Alamos residents.
New members must sign a waiver. Please contact the membership secretary, Carolyn Bell at cob4058@yahoo.com with questions.
