Hockey: LA tops NMIIHL standings

The Los Alamos Hilltopper ice hockey team will play its final home game of the season Friday night at Los Alamos County Ice Rink.

The game, against Santa Fe’s Blue Jackets, is scheduled for 7 p.m. Admission is free.

At Friday night’s game, the Hilltoppers will honor their seniors.

Los Alamos will also be in action Saturday when it plays Eldorado. That game is scheduled for 1 p.m. in Albuquerque.

The Hilltoppers are currently on top of the New Mexico Interscholastic Ice Hockey League standings, one game ahead of Santa Fe. Santa Fe played Los Alamos to a 3-3 tie in the teams’ first meeting Nov. 24.

The Hilltoppers won their most recent outing, knocking off the Taos Ice Tigers 8-2 at Taos.
