George (Guy) Loddy was born in Lindrith, N.M., on Feb. 22, 1922, to Charles and Gavina Loddy. George was preceded in death by his parents and wife of 65 years, Estell V. (Coons) Loddy. He is survived by his sister, Rita Brooks of Bakersfield, Calif.; his son, George J. Loddy of Pojoaque, N.M., his daughter and son-in-law, Barbara (Loddy) Walters and Richard Walters of Sand Springs, Okla.; three grandchildren: Shawn Loddy of San Diego, Calif.; Terry Walters and wife Fiona Rhea of Tulsa, Okla.; and Stacy (Walters) Moses and husband, Mitchell Moses of Sand Springs, Okla.; two great-grandchildren: Blake Moses and Kathryn Walters; and many nieces and nephews.

George served in the U. S. Army, Company C of the 131st Training Battalion, Tank Destroyer Unit in WWII. He was an electrician by trade, going to Los Alamos, N.M., when it was a boys school and working for Reynolds Electric Company and later Zia Company at the Los Alamos National Laboratories until he retired in 1984. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his affiliation with the Elks Lodge, he was proud to be a 32nd degree Mason and was recognized as a 50-year member in 2007. He was active in the Los Alamos Shrine Club until 2006 when his wife passed away and he moved to Oklahoma to be with his daughter and grandchildren. He was a wonderful great-grandpa to his two great-grand children and loved his grand children very much. He was a kind, gentle soul and was loved by all who knew him. A Memorial Masonic Service and Military Honors was held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, in the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, N.M.
