Assets in Action, a Juvenile Justice Advisory Board program and the Los Alamos Children’s Clinic have teamed up for a youth development project to benefit the entire child.
The White Rock Branch Library will host the first in a series of health related presentations on Oct. 15.
The first presentation, is hosted by Dr. Ben Neal, who studied at Texas A&M University and then at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center in San Antonio.
“I am talking about injury prevention in youth sports,” said Neal. “Anything I can do to help keep kids from getting hurt in sports is great.”
Neal plans to focus on the fact that playing sports is supposed to be fun, while being safe at the same time.
Neal has been with the Los Alamos Children’s Clinic for 26 years.
Assets In Action will have information available for parents with children of all ages about building the essentials to help kids thrive.
A brief question and answer session will follow the presentation and information is available by calling 695-9139.
