Building a bridge to success

The faculty and staff of UNM-Los Alamos are reaching out to the community to help students get started in college.

The Bridge to Success Scholarship bridges the gap between high school or GED acquisition and the New Mexico Lottery Scholarship.

The Lottery Scholarship begins at the start of a student’s second semester in college.

The first semester is the qualifying semester. Students must successfully complete a minimum of 12 credit hours, with a 2.5 or higher GPA.

This is where the UNM-LA Bridge to Success Scholarship steps in by covering tuition and fees (approximately $642) for the qualifying semester.

By helping to make sure students are able to attend college during that semester, UNM-LA sets them on the road to completing their education.

UNM-LA is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization; thus contributions to the UNM-LA Bridge to Success program are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. To contribute via credit card, call 662-5919 ex.681, or stop by in person. Mail checks to: Director’s Office, UNM-Los Alamos, 4000 University Drive, Los Alamos. Please make checks out to UNM-Los Alamos and write “Bridge to Success Fund” on it. Include a return address to receive a receipt.

Help UNM-LA build a bridge to a college education for more students this year.
