Downtown Dogs. A weekly walking group for dogs and humans. The walk starts from Pet Pangaea at 6 p.m. on Thursday nights for a stroll around downtown Los Alamos. Bring a leash, no longer than six feet.


Eureka! 4 p.m. at Fuller Lodge Art Center. Artistic interpretations of discovery by a variety of local artists in a variety of media. The Portal Gallery features the work of Katherine Brittin and Charryl Berger. Daily through July 26.

Firecracker 5K Fun Run. 8-10 a.m. at the Family YMCA.

Jemez Thrift Shop Bag Days. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at 13 Sherwood Blvd. in White Rock. 


Bradbury Science Museum Cinema. 10:30 a.m. every Saturday. Short science films ranging in topics from microbes to aquifers to addiction. Cowboy Breakfast at Los Alamos Sheriff’s Posse Lodge. 7-11 a.m. at 650 North Mesa Road, near the stables. $7 adult, $4 children 10 years and under. 


Chapter AK, P.E.O., will hold its next meeting 11:45 a.m. at Linda Valenti’s home, south of the Santa Fe Opera. Members with last names starting with I-Z are asked to bring salads. Karla Crane will provide the program and serve as co-hostess. RSVP to Linda at 984-9153. Carpooling is encouraged. Driving directions will be provided to all who are able to attend. 


Summit Garden Club will meet to tour the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, including a traveling large scale metal origami sculpture exhibit by sculptor Kevin Box. Visitors are welcome. For more information, call Laurie at 672-3483.

Kiwanis meets from noon to 1 p.m. each Tuesday in Kelly Hall at Trinity On The Hill Episcopal Church, 3900 Trinity Drive. Kiwanian Bob Carlos and members of the local Explorer Post will report on the post’s activities.
