This month’s Juvenile Justice Advisory Board meeting features a panel of counselors who will discuss emerging trends and teen issues they are seeing in their work and how we as a community can address these challenges. The White Rock Family Friendly Film Series presents, “The Dog Who Saved Christmas Vacation” at 7 p.m. in the White Rock Town Hall.

The Los Alamos County Republican Party will meet at 7 p.m. at the home of Ron and Olha Dolin, 236 Rio Bravo, White Rock. This monthly meeting will be a Christmas party. Participants are invited to bring political acumen and a dessert or light snack to share.

Los Alamos Little Theater Madrigal Dinner Theatre at 6 p.m. at the Elks Lodge #2083, Trinity Dr. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Music, fun and potential mayhem will ensue when this band of rogue players perform. The Christmas Tubas will present a free concert at 7:15 p.m. at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church.

Author and chicken expert Patricia Foreman talks about her new book, “City Chicks,” at 2 p.m. at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center.  Learn how to keep and employ chickens in small spaces.  

 Saint Dimitri Orthodox Church will have its annual Holiday Bake Sale of cookies and sweets from traditional Eastern Orthodox lands on Dec. 18. Now is the time to order these holiday specialties made from recipes that have been handed down from mothers to offer a holiday selection. The Holiday baked goods selection includes baklava, anatolian baklava, Greek monastery cookies, Greek koulerakia, paxamadia, Russian tea cakes and Russian honey cookies. Included with the baked goods is a sample of Russian tea and hand-dipped pure beeswax candles from the Monastery of the Archangel Michael in Cañones. The price is $24.99 per box.
