A chapter of The Compassionate Friends will meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on the northeast side of the new YMCA Annex, Central Park Square, suite 140. Co-led by Eric Ferm and Valerie Wood. The organization offers non-denominational grief support after the death of a child. Bereaved parents and grandparents are welcome regardless of age. The Chamber of Commerce will celebrate its 50th anniversary in conjunction with Small Business Saturday.
Nature Playtimes at PEEC. 10-11 a.m. Toddlers, preschoolers and their caregivers come to PEEC to explore the natural world. Summit Garden Club will meet this afternoon. The speaker will be Christie Kelly, of Cece’s Gardens in White Rock. She will demonstrate how to make a beautiful and long-lasting floral arrangement with just a few very healthy blooms, and how to arrange with only greens. Mesa Public Library Free Film Series presents a special holiday season film showing of “Joyeux Noel, 2005,” On Christmas Eve during world War I, the Germans, French and Scottish fraternize and get to know the men who live on the opposite side of a brutal war, in what became a true lesson of humanity.

North Pole Workshop and Luminaria Walk. The family friendly holiday tradition. 5-7 p.m. starting at North Mesa Stables. Dress warmly, wear your walking shoes. Afterwards, Posse Lodge will have professional digital photographs with Santa and his elves, warm drinks, light refreshments and a holiday craft. Photos with Santa are a $5 donation to benefit the recreation scholarship fund. This event is made possible from volunteer support provided by the LA Sherriff’s Posse Lodge, the LA Stable Owner’s Association, the LA Pony Club, and the LA 4-H Club.
