The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women will have the monthly meeting 6:15 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 2200 Diamond Drive. All registered Republican women are invited to join. In honor of Veteran’s Day, Bill Hudson will be the guest speaker. Members are reminded to bring non-perishable food items and toiletries for the Esperanza Shelter in Santa Fe.

The Los Alamos Genealogical Association will meet at 7 p.m. at the Mesa Public Library. The program, “Pruning Your Family Tree,” will be given by Irma Holtkamp. The public is invited. The traditional no-host dinner will be 5:30 p.m. at China Moon. There will be no meeting in December. January’s meeting will be on Jan. 22.

The Los Alamos Federated Republican Women is hosting its first “Holiday Mingle, Jingle and Shop.” 7-8:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 2200 Diamond Dr. Local female business owners will be selling their items with lots to choose from. Atomic Film Festival. “When the Wind Blows.” An animated story based on the book by Raymond Briggs about a couple facing nuclear devastation aided only with instructions from the government’s “Protect and Survive” leaflet. 7 p.m. at Fuller Lodge. Free.

Aaron’s Kids Closet will be open from 10:30 a.m-12:30 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 715 Diamond Dr. Clothing, shoes and coats, etc. are available for school-aged children. For more information or to donate call 660-0340.
