The Los Alamos Piecemakers Quilt Guild will have a potluck for their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. at the United Church of Los Alamos.  In addition to the potluck, a group of quilters will present quilts that were created by using various fabric art techniques to replicate a number of posters.
 LA Family Council is starting a new weekly Dream Group beginning at 10 a.m. for a six-week therapy group that will voyage into the interior landscape of dreams. Learn to interpret meaning and utilize guidance from your dreams through creative exercises and supportive dialogue with others. NJROTC will serve a full brisket meal including barbecue brisket, potato salad, vegetable, a roll, drink and dessert from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Posse Shack. $10 per plate.

Agatha Christie, noted author of murder mystery novels and plays, has been honored this month in Great Britain and elsewhere on the 120th anniversary of her birth. The Los Alamos Little Theatre will pay its homage with auditions for the Christie play, “Go Back for Murder,” scheduled for 7:15 p.m. Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 at the theatre, 1670 Nectar St. The play will open New Year’s Eve and have its LALT run in January.
The Knights of Columbus will hold their Annual Scholarship Golf Tournament at the Los Alamos Golf Course. The event kicks off with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Teams will be two-person and the cost is $100 per person. Awards will be presented for closest-to-the pin and long drive. Lunch and the awards ceremony have been slated for immediately following the tournament. Door prizes from local businesses will be presented. Sponsorship opportunities are still available for businesses and individuals for as little as $100. Players can put their own team together or the Knights will put one together for them. The Northern New Mexico Quilt Guild presents Quilt Fiesta 2010: Traditions Transformed, the Artistry of Quilting through Oct. 3 at the Santa Fe County Fairgrounds, Extension Building, 3229 Rodeo Road, Santa Fe. Hours: Friday and Saturday 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Admission $3 daily or $5 for a weekend pass.  

Fuller Lodge Art center will host an opening reception for the Fall Fiber & Fashion exhibit from 5-7 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy refreshments, meet the artists and enjoy an informal fashion show offered by Uli’s Cottontails.
