“Science on Tap.” 5:30-7 p.m. at the Blue Window Bistro in downtown Los Alamos. LANL’s Patrick McCormick will have an informal chat about high performance computing. The topic, “Future System Architectures for High Performance Computing – Pardon Me While I Take This Call…,” will cover McCormick’s perspective that to really impact science, we need to find ways to better leverage other parts of the industry.

Staying Independent with Vision Loss. Seminar will be 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Betty Ehart Center. There will be cooking demonstrations, tips on how to continue to use your computer and smart phone, and discussions on blindness, low vision and strategies to prevent vision loss from stifling independence and self-confidence.
