Relay for Life Los Alamos will hold its monthly committee meeting from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at the Comfort Inn and Suites, 2455 Trinity Dr. Individuals who are interested in helping and/or participating are invited to attend. The LA GOP Central Committee will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. in the Acoma Room at the Hilltop House Hotel. All Central Committee members are encouraged to attend. All Republicans welcome.
It’s Fish Fry time again at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Hall, from 5-7 p.m. The dinners are sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and proceeds will benefit Nuestros Pequeños Orphanage in Honduras, and other charities. Adult plates are $10 and have two pieces of cod, coleslaw and rice or French fries, plus a drink or dessert. Children may have one piece of fish or a grilled cheese sandwich with all the rest for $7 a plate.

The Los Alamos County Forum on the Sustainability Plan and Energy and Water Conservation Plan will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the upstairs meeting rooms of Mesa Public Library. Another forum will be at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Feb. 28 at the White Rock Town Hall.
The Hilltalkers Showcase Night: An Evening of Entertainment, will be at 7 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, 2200 Diamond Dr. The cost is $7 for adults and $5 for children younger than five. Desserts and beverages will be served.
The Rotary Club of Los Alamos invites the community to its Fourth Annual Crab Fest and all-you-can-eat crab and prawn family-style dinner at the Knights of Columbus Hall. The cash bar opens at 5:30 p.m., dinner will be served at 7 p.m. there will be music as well as silent and live auctions. Tickets are $45 each, reserved tables of 10 are $450. Tickets may be purchased at the Blue Window, CB Fox and the Chamber of Commerce. Proceeds benefit local scholarships and the purchase of an AED for Fuller Lodge. Krista Mireles, the Newsline coordinator for the New Mexico Commission for the Blind, will be the featured speaker at the Low Vision Support Group meeting at 10 a.m. in the Betty Ehart Senior Center classroom. She will demonstrate the use of Newsline, the service of listening to newspapers being read over the telephone. Several volunteers from Los Alamos are part of the team of readers. Instructions for becoming a reader will also be available. Caregivers and families of visually impaired are encouraged to attend this program.

Hawk hangout with Miss Ellie, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Mesa Public Library. Movies, music, books, socializing, crafts, games and more. Middle-schoolers only.

Total Solar Eclipse Talk. Local astronomer Steve Becker talks at PEEC about the total solar eclipse of 2012, which he watched from a cruise ship in the Coral Sea.
