Animal Shelter 01-30-11

-A A +A

The Los Alamos Animal Shelter, 226 East Road, 662-8179, has a great selection of on-site adoptable pets; others are in foster care with loving, temporary homes.
All of our fully reconditioned adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, have their shots and are micro-chipped.
Be sure to check out links to our many pets at the Friends of the Shelter Web site: www.lafos.org. You can also volunteer or make a donation.
Every cat is only
$35 with an extended two-for-one sale.
Our overstock is your savings. Adopt one kitty for $35 and if you can find room in your home and heart, adopt a second pussycat free.
Bonzai — Ten year old black and white kitty with special dietary needs. He is sociable, but has his own kennel for eating.
Cali — Current “queen of the cat room.” She’s a beautiful domestic long hair spayed female senior Calico. Her owner now lives in Sombrillo. Cali is healthy and her coat is awesome. She misses a friendly lap and has been at the shelter for a long time.
Choo Choo — A frightened little thing. Has been moved to a big cage to encourage confidence.
Duck — Nice black kitty that loves to play and be brushed.
Eve — Very special DLH declawed, spayed female. So traumatized by being on her own, shelter staff has had to work hard to coax her out. She will now allow people to pet her and might even sit on a lap.
Gidget — Spayed, 12 year old domestic short-hair Tortie. Family had to move so she was surrendered with companion cat Samantha. Gidget is OK with cats, dogs and kids.
Missy — Is a four year old spayed female American Domestic Tabby.
Necko — Sweet, young black spayed female. Likes attention.
Percey — DSH spayed female, four years old. Good with kids.
Piper — The youngest resident of the cat room. This darling little Tabby is playful, busy and is an attention grabber.
Poofey — Beautiful dark Maine Coon. Has been a neighborhood roamer for a long time, but is slowly adjusting to the cat room.
Samantha — Came in with Gidget when their family moved. She’s a domestic short hair muted Tortie. She’s four years old and spayed and is pretty shy about eating. She has her own special floor cage where she can eat without other feline help.
Scribbles — Eight year old, declawed Calico. Quiet, healthy, well-behaved.
Shiloh — Domestic long hair white and gray spayed female. She’s nine years old, good with kids, declawed and friendly. She has big, beautiful eyes.

Ann — Two year old Lab/Heeler-mix. Spayed female, housebroken, very social, loves people and quiet dogs. She’s athletic and good in the house. No cats.
Barney — The sweet little neutered male Pit-mix is coming back because owners have allergies. He’s a bundle of energy and loves people and other dogs.
Chip — One year old neutered male GSD mix. He’s very shy and has had little human contact, but we are woking with him. He’s a sweet boy, but will need a loving, patient home.
Hiro — Four year old neutered male SharPei/Aussie-mix. Sweet, loving and a little shy. He loves the dog park and is good with dogs and cats. He’s housebroken and a really nice boy.
