P.E.O. chapter meeting

  The Chapter AK of P.E.O. International will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the home of Linda Anderson. The meeting will open with special guest speaker Gary Storkin, who will talk about an alternative approach to allergy treatment.

Get some BBQ, support Senior Night

  In support of Senior Appreciation Night, Kenny’s North Carolina Barbecue will donate 10 percent of its sales from 11 a.m.-

6 p.m. Monday to the event. Kenny’s is located in the Best Western Hilltop House Hotel parking lot.

Quarterly exams

  The Los Alamos Volunteer Examiner group will host the second of the quarterly exam sessions for Amateur Radio Licenses at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the “Old Fire Barn,” located at 4017 Arkansas in the upstairs meeting room. There will be testing for all classes of license.

LWV luncheon

  The League of Women Voters will host its monthly Lunch with a Leader from 11:45 a.m.-12:45 p.m. Tuesday at Central Avenue Grill where all meals including tax and tip are just $13.50. The speaker will be County Administrator Anthony Mortillaro who will address the “State of the County,” which will touch on the budget, KRSN, capital projects and Trinity Site. Of course, he will be happy to answer questions from those at the luncheon.

Ex-NNSA Chief to give talk

  Arms control expert and ex-NNSA chief Linton Brooks will talk on “New START and Beyond” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday  in a public meeting at the new Holiday Inn Express. The event is sponsored by the Los Alamos Committee on Arms Control and International Security.
