Police beat

  A large piece of concrete thrown through the rear window of a parked vehicle, a rock thrown through the window of another parked vehicle and the windows of an office building damaged by shots from a pellet gun or firearm top this week’s Police Beat. Read the full report on Page 2.

AAUW meeting today

  The American Association University of Women will host a talk titled, “Growing Up Female in

India,” during their regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.

Brown Bag series

  Los Alamos Arts Council Brown Bag Performance Series presents Amrahn and the Black Mesa Brass at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Fuller Lodge.

Winners to be announced

  The Sierra Club will meet the winners of the club’s environmental award. The winners will present their posters at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Mesa Public Library.

  Mesa Public Library Free Film Series will screen ”Diner” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lenten fish fry dinner

  The Immaculate Heart of Mary Youth is hosting a Lenten fish fry dinner from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the IHM parish hall, 3700 Canyon Road.  Besides the traditional fish, dinners will include coleslaw, rice pilaf, desserts and drinks. Tickets can be purchased from the IHM youth office by calling 661-8303 or at the door for $10 for an adult plate (two pieces of fish) or $5 for a child plate (one piece of fish). Raffle tickets to win beautiful themed Easter baskets will be for sale at all the fish fry dinners. The proceeds from the dinners will benefit Our Little Brothers and Sisters Orphanage in Honduras, Haitian earthquake relief through OLBS in Haiti and the World Youth Day pilgrimage to Madrid, Spain.
