JJAB meeting is tonight

  The February Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) will meet at 6:15 p.m. tonight in the LAPS Board Room.

Join the Mountaineers

  Join the Los Alamos Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. in Fuller Lodge to hear Lynn Ensslin and Dennis Brandt share their adventures on the Ptarmigan Traverse in the Northern Cascades. The meeting will begin with dessert and social time at 7:30 p.m., tonight followed by a discussion of trips past and future.  The presentation will begin at approximately 8 p.m. The club offers trips that range from easy hikes to technical mountaineering and is committed to safe outdoor practices. Discover E event today

The eighth annual Discover E event will be held from 4:30-7 p.m. today in the Los Alamos High School DECA cafeteria. The event, which is for kindergarten through 12th grade students, will provide many different hands-on activities and demonstrations in different areas of math and science. The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), the Northern New Mexico Chapter of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) sponsor the free event. The event will not be held Feb. 18.

LASE Network to meet

Energy tops the list of topics to be discussed when Rep. Ben Ray Luján addresses a meeting of the Los Alamos Sustainable Energy Network from 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.Thursday at the Pajarito Environmental Education Center at 3540 Orange St.  

Public auction is canceled

  The onsite public sale of surplus Los Alamos National Laboratory property originally scheduled for noon Thursday is cancelled due to snow accumulation and icy conditions. The next sale scheduled at the Lab is March 18, weather and yard conditions permitting.
