Police Beat

  Furniture thrown into a pool, possession of drugs and a DWI that resulted in a car crashing into a light pole tops this week’s Police Beat. Read more on page 2.

Pancake supper tonight

  Trinity on the Hill Episcopal Church and the House of Hope (HoH) Women will commemorate Shrove Tuesday by hosting a pancake supper from 5:30-7 p.m. tonight in the new Kelly Hall, 3900 Trinity Drive. Donations for the dinner are $4 for children age 10 and younger, $7 for adults and $18 for families. Tickets may be purchased at the door the night of the supper.

La Leche League meeting

  La Leche League of Los Alamos will discuss “Why Breastfeed your Baby?” at it’s monthly meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the Teen Room at the First United Methodist Church. All interested, pregnant or breastfeeding women are welcome to learn and share, through mother-to-mother support, the basics and benefits of breastfeeding. JJAB meeting tomorrow

  The February Juvenile Justice Advisory Board (JJAB) will meet at

6:15 p.m. Wednesday in the LAPS Board Room.

Join the Mountaineers

  Join the Los Alamos Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in Fuller Lodge to hear Lynn Ensslin and Dennis Brandt share their adventures on the Ptarmigan Traverse in the Northern Cascades. The meeting will begin with dessert and social time at 7:30 p.m., followed by a discussion of trips past and future.  The presentation will begin at approximately 8 p.m. The club offers trips that range from easy hikes to technical mountaineering and is committed to safe outdoor practices.
