Los Alamos Hilltopper girls basketball star Taylor Ealey will have at least one more game in her prep career.

Ealey, the District 2AAAA co-Player of the Year for 2009-10, accepted an invitation to play in this year’s North-South All-Star Game.

The North-South Game is an annual event sponsored by the New Mexico High School Coaches Association. The game pits the top graduating seniors from Albuquerque and points north against the southern half of New Mexico.

Ealey, who has been among the Hilltoppers’ leading point scorers since her sophomore year, had a big senior season for Los Alamos, leading it to its first appearance in the state quarterfinals in three years.

The Hilltoppers finished the 2009-10 season with a record of 20-11, their first 20-win season since joining Class AAAA in 2000-01. They finished second behind Española Valley in the District 2AAAA championship race.

This season, Ealey finished as the team’s leading scorer and second-leading rebounder behind Shelby Courtright. Ealey averaged 14.4 points per game and grabbed 6.1 rebounds per game, including 61 total offensive rebounds.

Additionally, Ealey was first in blocked shots (30), second in steals (71) on the team behind Sarah Worland. She was also among the team leaders in 3-pointers made (30) and field goal percentage (36.6 percent).

Along with Ealey, district co-Player of the Year Nisa Duran of Española Valley was also named to the North squad. Full North-South team rosters haven’t yet been released.

Ealey is the second Hilltopper basketball player to be named to an All-Star squad this season. Hilltopper boys basketball standout Alex Kirk was also selected by the NMHSCA as a North All-Star.

The 2010 North-South All-Star Game will be held June 10 in Albuquerque. No site has yet been specified for the game.

The girls All-Star Game has been played each year since 1981.
