The Los Alamos football team was able to run its offense efficiently and take advantage of Pojoaque Valley mistakes in Friday’s season opener.

After Los Alamos recovered a Pojoaque fumble at the Elk 25-yard line, Quartieri got the scoring started with a 12-yard touchdown run with 5:21 left in the first quarter. The Hilltoppers scored again three minutes later after a Quartieri seven-yard touchdown run.
Early in the second quarter, Quartieri garnered his third touchdown of the game with a 23-yard touchdown run to put Los Alamos ahead 23-0 with 10:16 remaining in the first half.
Pojoaque got on the board when Elks quarterback Daniel Rael scored a 13-yard rushing touchdown with 6:12 left in the second quarter.
