Los Alamos golfers came up big in the first tournaments of the Northern New Mexico Senior Men’s Golf Association season.
Bruce Norman won both championship flight rounds on the April 22 and April 23 tournament at Sierra del Rio. Norman shot a 79 both days to win the top flight.
Golfers from the hill won three flights on the day one at Sierra del Rio and three on day two.
Bob Quick was a dual winner, as well, winning the first flight competition in the second day at Sierra del Rio and at the Tech course. Ken Koch won the first flight on day one at Sierra del Rio.
Also at New Mexico Tech, Los Alamos’ Larry Hults scored an ace on the par-3 15th hole.
The NNMSMGA competes during the late spring through early fall months at various locations around New Mexico and southern Colorado.
