ALBUQUERQUE (AP) — Drew Gordon scored 12 of New Mexico’s first 18 points and Hugh Greenwood opened the second half with 14 straight points as the Lobos defeated Air Force 86-56 Wednesday.
Greenwood finished with a game- and career-high 22 points with six rebounds, and Gordon had 17 points and 11 rebounds for New Mexico (23-6, 9-4 Mountain West), which ended a two-game losing streak.
Taylor Broekhuis scored 11 points to lead Air Force (13-14, 3-10).
“I thought tonight, we did an awful of good things,” New Mexico coach Steve Alford said. “We shared the basketball. We didn’t turn the ball over. We dominated the glass. I thought our defense was really back to being that stingy defense we’ve been seeing.”
