Isotopes’ pitching gets walloped Monday vs. Tucson The Albuquerque Isotopes don’t seem to be having much trouble scoring against the Tucson Padres during their current series, but stopping the Padres from scoring has been an issue. The Isotopes have scored 19 runs in the first two games of the series, but Tucson has won both contests. The Padres won Sunday’s series opener 10-8, then followed that up with a 14-11 victory Monday. To finish up its current homestand with at least a .500 mark, the Isotopes must win both tonight and Wednesday. They split their four-game set with Las Vegas just prior to the Tucson series.

Northeast   Cabresto Lake: The lake and campground closed May 14 and will stay closed for about six months while the dam is being rebuilt. Charette Lakes: Fishing was slow to fair using Power Bait for trout. We had no reports on other species.   Cimarron River: Trout fishing was good using brassies, Cimarron specials, red copper John Barrs, tricos, small gold Panther Martins, salmon eggs and worms. Water flow below Eagle Nest Lake as of Monday was 36 cfs. Fishing at the Gravel Pit lakes was fair to good using salmon eggs.

Albuquerque drops third straight contest

Northwest Abiquiu Lake: Fishing was good using top water lures, tube jigs, night crawlers, minnows, jerk baits and crank baits for smallmouth bass. Fishing was fair using crank baits, bottom bouncer minnow and bottom bouncer night crawler combos for walleye. The best reports came from anglers fishing up river at night. They also reported catching good size catfish. The catfish were taken on shrimp, minnows and chicken liver. We had no reports on other species. The surface water temp was in the low 70s. Animas River:  As of Monday morning flow near Cedar Hill was 341cfs. Trout fishing was fair using streamers wooly buggers, San Juan worms, night crawlers and salmon eggs.
