The Los Alamos Hilltopper girls soccer team will have just one day to prepare for the Albuquerque Academy Chargers following a rough outing Thursday.
The Hilltoppers fell to the Rio Rancho Rams at home Thursday. The game, which was delayed one hour due to lightning, was thoroughly controlled by the Rams, the No. 3 team in Class 5A, who won 3-0.
"You have to give them credit, they outplayed us," Los Alamos head coach Jiri Kubicek said. "We could not get anything going. We had the same problems as we did against La Cueva (Tuesday). We need to play better, that's all."
Kubicek said his defense is struggling — it has given up seven goals in its two games this week — and he may make some lineup changes for Academy.
