A pair of Española Valley Sundevils will represent their school at this year’s Class 4A/5A basketball All-Star Games.
Sundevils Justine Vigil and Rodney Coles were selected for the North’s big school All-Star team for the 2010-11 season.
Coles and Vigil led their teams to District 2AAAA titles in 2010-11, while Coles spearheaded a late run in the Class 4A championship game as Española Valley topped Goddard, giving the Sundevils their first boys basketball title in school history.

Wrestlers from Los Alamos grabbed five top-five finishes at the Greater Southwest Nationals tournament last month.
The Greater Southwest Nationals was held the week following the state prep wrestling meet. Several wrestlers from Los Alamos took part in the meet, which included wrestlers from all around the southwest region.
The tournament was held at Tingley Coliseum in Albuquerque.
The top finishers from Los Alamos were Brian Geyer and Bobby Sorenson, who both took second place in their respective age divisions.

For the past several seasons, the Los Alamos Hilltopper softball team has found itself on several occasions just a hit or two away from victory.
In too many of those scenarios, however, the Hilltoppers haven’t been able to find that hit or two.
So it was refreshing for Los Alamos manager Roger Anaya to see his team come up with some clutch hitting to help put away a stout Class 4A opponent Tuesday afternoon at Overlook Park.

The Los Alamos Hilltopper boys tennis team went 3-0 at last weekend’s Clovis Quadrangular, with two of those wins coming handily over two Class 5A teams.
Both the Hilltopper boys and girls teams took part in the quad, which included Clovis, Portales and Rio Rancho’s Sue Cleveland.
Los Alamos’ boys earned a 7-2 victory over Clovis Friday, then followed that up with a 6-3 win over Portales and a 9-0 win against Cleveland.
