The Los Alamos Hilltopper football team was blasted by the Farmington Scorpions in the Four Corners area Friday night.
The Scorpions scored a touchdown just 9 seconds into Friday’s game and scored on their first play of their next possession and never looked back. The Scorpions won big in just one half of play, 53-0.
Farmington (3-2), which won the Class 4A championship last season, scored 31 points in the first quarter to begin the rout.
Los Alamos, midway through the second quarter, had minus-4 yards total offense, while Farmington did virtually anything it wanted on both sides of the ball.
In their last 10 quarters, the Hilltoppers have managed just one offensive score.
Los Alamos (0-5) will have its final nondistrict game of the season Friday when it hosts the Santa Fe Demons.
JV football team faces Hope Christian Monday
Los Alamos’ junior varsity football team has a game set for Monday at home. Los Alamos will take on Hope Christian at 4:30 p.m. at Sullivan Field.
The Hilltoppers should go into Monday’s game with some momentum. They shut out the Santa Fe Demons last week 41-0 in Santa Fe.
That win was the Hilltoppers’ second of the season. They nipped St. Michael’s 9-6 Sept. 8.
