Lilly Bueck took gold in the all-around competition and was the top all-around (36.55) scorer in the Level 5 Division for Los Alamos School of Gymnastics Atomic Tumblers’ at the AGS Meet in Albuquerque on Feb. 9-10.
Bueck, who competes in the Level 5 Junior C Division, earned gold on bars (9.3), silver on beam (9.5) and floor (9.1), and bronze on vault (8.65).
Also for LASG, Katie Wingo took silver in the all-around competition in the Level 5 Child Division with a score of 34.275. Wingo’s earned gold on beam (9.25), silver on floor (8.725), bronze on bars (8.1) and fourth on vault (8.2).
Ramya Stevens took bronze in the all-around (34.375) in the Level 5 Senior C Division. Stevens also earned bronze on vault (8.45), fourth on bars (8.65), fifth on beam (8.6), and sixth on floor (8.675).
Bueck, Wingo, and Stevens were among 215 gymnasts from 15 teams who competed in the meet. In all, 6 Atomic Tumblers competed in the Level 4 Division, 11 in the Level 5 Division, and one in the Level 6 Division.

Level 4 Child A

Nyla Lee earned gold on vault (9.25), fourth on bars (8.3), fifth on floor (8.05) and all-around (33.2), and sixth on beam (7.6).

Level 4 Child B

The Los Alamos High Flyers Girls Gymnastics Team ended its competitive season Feb. 24 with an impressive showing at the women’s Level 3-4 Junior Olympic state championships.
In total, the 12 member team brought home thirty-two medals and trophies, including two first-place, nine second-place and 13 third-place awards.
In Level 4 competition, Amaya Coblentz took first place on bars with a score of 9.10.
She took third on floor exercise and placed third all-around with an accumulated score of 35.50.
Coblentz was joined by High Flyers teammate Bella Garcia with a first-place finish. Garcia earned a 9.15 on balance beam in Level 3 competition.
Along with her win on the beam, Garcia finished second in all-around competition with a combined score of 35.775. She was also second on vault (9.325).
High Flyers’ Sarah Worley took third place on beam and was sixth all-around in the competition.
In the older age category, Alexandra Hinckley received a third-place medal for her bar routine and placed eighth in all-around competition.
Making their first appearance at the state championships, nine girls competed for High Flyers in the Level 3 division. In the same 9-year-old age group as Garcia, Ella Gaffney placed third on beam with a score of 8.95 and was seventh all-around.

The Los Alamos Hilltopper baseball team dropped a home contest to the Hope Christian Huskies Tuesday.
The Huskies, a Class 3A squad, topped the Hilltoppers 9-6 at Bomber Field. The loss puts the Hilltoppers at 2-5 for the season.
It was the second consecutive loss for Los Alamos, which has been outscored 55-37 so far.
Los Alamos doesn’t play again until Tuesday, when it hosts the Los Lunas Tigers.
The Tigers trounced the Hilltoppers 15-2 in the fifth-place game of the St. Pius X Invitational last Saturday.
 

The Los Alamos Hilltopper hockey team defeated the Taos Ice Tigers in the championship game of the New Mexico Interscholastic Ice Hockey playoffs Saturday night.
Nevin Gupta scored the lone overtime goal for either side to lift the Hilltoppers to a 4-3 victory over their main rival, the Ice Tigers, in the pure division championship game. Pure division teams are ones made up entirely of players from one school.
With just 1:08 remaining in regulation, Cory Schramm scored the tying goal to force overtime.
With the victory, Los Alamos earns the right to represent the state at the national championship tournament.
In the composite division — teams made up of players from more than one high school — El Paso (Texas) Coronado topped Cibola 3-2.
