One worker was in critical condition Sunday following an accident at Los Alamos National Laboratory's LANSCE facility, the lab announced this evening.
The accident occured during preventive maintenance operations at the facility. The employee was burned while working on an electrical substation and transported off the site for medical treatment. The employee's name hasn't been released.
The cause of the accident, according to LANL, is under investigation. A lab spokesman said there was no other information information that was going to be released publicly for the time being.
Along with the employee in critical condition, eight other employees were transported to Los Alamos Medical Center with injuries. Of those, seven were released and the other was being held for observation.
