Los Alamos Medical Center announced that one of the workers who had been brought in following an accident at the LANSCE facility Sunday is in stable condition.
The worker, whose name was not given, is a 57-year-old male. He was brough in, along with eight other workers, following an electrical accident at the LANSCE site.
One of the workers, who was not identified, was sent by med-evac services to University of New Mexico, where he is being treated at the burn unit.
That worker was listed in critical condition following Sunday's accident.
The accident occured during preventive maintenance operations at the facility. The employee, according to LANL, was burned while working on an electrical substation and transported off the site for medical treatment.
The cause of the accident, according to LANL, is under investigation. A total of nine employees were transported to Los Alamos Medical Center with injuries following the accident.
The other seven workers were treated and released.
As of mid-morning Monday, no new details had been released about the nature of the accident. Information will be posted to LAMonitor.com as it becomes available.
