LA Chamber debuting a new promotion at tonight’s show

Along with hearing some tunes, Los Alamos residents can also save a few bucks by attending the Gordon’s Summer Concert Series.
The Los Alamos Chamber of Commerce is introducing a coupon page that is only available at the chamber’s tent at this year’s concerts.
“Friday Night Specials,” as the coupons are called, will be available for several local retailers. The coupons are good from Saturday through the following Thursday.
The first group of Friday Night Specials will be available tonight at the concert at Ashley Pond.
The Band of Heathens will play starting at 7 p.m. at Ashley Pond. It’s the third of the Gordon’s series concerts.
According to promoter Russ Gordon, “They mix rock, Americana, country, blues, R&B, jamband and funk. They’ll remind you of The Band, the Black Crows, Grateful Dead, Wilco, Dawes and Ryan Adams. One of the best to come out of Austin, Texas, this young century.”
Band of Heathens has played on the long-running PBS show “Austin City Limits” and, following tonight, have upcoming dates scheduled for Saturday in Taos, Sunday in Albuquerque and several next month in Texas.
