The Los Alamos Heart Council Health Fair is conducted today from 8 a.m. to noon at the Los Alamos High School Griffith Gym. Today’s event will mark its 25th year.
The first Health Fair sponsored and organized by the Heart Council (a United Way Community Partner) was held at Fuller Lodge/Community Building in 1986 with approximately 25 booths.
In 1993, it moved to Griffith Gym and has grown to nearly 70 exhibitor booths. Its intent is to provide education and information to the general public about health resources and services available in the community and surrounding areas, and to provide an opportunity for low cost or free health screening and self-assessment.
