SOC LLC has been awarded a contract to continue providing protective force services at Los Alamos National Laboratory.

The contract is for three years with two one-year extensions and has a value of about $251 million.

OC LLC, operating as SOC Los Alamos, has provided protective force services for Los Alamos for more than a decade.

The company was previously known as Protection Technology Los Alamos (PTLA).

Its current contract runs through Dec. 22, with the new contract to begin the following day.

2:07 a.m. – A 54-year-old Los Alamos man reported that he was the victim of larceny at 1200 Trinity Dr. The estimated loss is less than $250.

A Los Alamos firefighter has been charged with voyeurism and tampering with evidence for allegedly videotaping a female firefighter in the shower area of Station 3 Sunday.

Capt. Aaron Adair has been issued a summons to appear in court.

"He has been placed on paid administrative leave while criminal and administrative investigations are underway," Chief Doug Tucker said.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) — The search has ended for a man who escaped from the custody of federal authorities in Espanola.

Authorities say 28-year-old Rafael Angel Juarez-Rodriguez was captured during a traffic stop in Taos late Tuesday after hitching a ride in Espanola from a woman.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents had initially arrested Juarez-Rodriguez in Taos on Tuesday afternoon and were on their way to arrest a second man in Espanola when Juarez-Rodriguez escaped.
