Emergency personnel raced to the scene as a suspicious package was found in the garage on West Jemez Road, on Los Alamos National Laboratory property Tuesday.
By 1 p.m., lab spokesman Kevin Roark, who was on the scene, said it was a false alarm and the emergency personnel were "standing down."
Roark said it's a reminder for employees to tag their bags.
"We do get a lot of calls for suspicious packages and there is always this kind of emergency response," Roark said. "To date, all have been false alarms."
Deputy police chief Kevin Purtymun said the suspicious package was wire wrapped in duct tape.
