    Ask Executive Producer/Director Tim Aydelott if he has a special love of Valles Caldera National Preserve and he responds, “I just have a special love for being outside.”

  • Lab targets workplace violence

    People who commit violent acts don’t suddenly snap – they repeatedly broadcast their intentions to avenge some perceived injustice until a trigger causes them to act, according to Dr. John Nicoletti who conducted workplace violence prevention training at Los Alamos National Laboratory. 

    “If they broadcast it – believe it, and if you see something or hear something – say something,” Nicoletti said.

  • Film tour returns to Los Alamos

    The 2011 Reel Rock Film Tour is coming with new films and footage to the Reel Deal Theater in Los Alamos at 4 p.m. Sunday. Moviegoers can win swag and watch some climbing and adventure films. 

    The Reel Deal Theatre and the Y are partnering to bring The Reel Rock Film Tour to Los Alamos for one night only. Advance tickets are on sale now at the Y for $10 each, and will be available for $12 at the door, the day of the show. 

  • Nordic skiing also a go

    The Pajarito Nordic Ski Trail was so badly burned during Las Conchas, hopes were slim for cross-country skiing this year. But thanks to a challenge cost share from the Southwest Nordic Ski Club (SNSC) that is stretching Federal Las Conchas recovery funds, the trail will be open this winter.
