    Mexico mission

    Items are currently being accepted for the Mexico Mission Auction, March 6. The auction will raise funds to build homes during spring break. To donate items call 662-2971. The auction will be March 6 at the United Church. A silent auction will be from 2-3 p.m., with a live auction at 3 p.m. Donations can be made through Feb. 27 at the United Church is located at 2525 Canyon Road.

    Music

    Lads of Enchantment, a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, invites singers to join them in song. Besides the enjoyment of singing in harmony, their barbershop chorus and quartets experience the thrill of performing in the community. They meet at 7:15 p.m. on Thursdays at the United Church of Los Alamos, Graves Hall. Attendees will find their chapter meetings are well planned, musically satisfying and fun. Visitors are welcome.

    Talks

    Dr. Kelly Hays-Gilpin, Associate Professor at Northern Arizona University, will speak about the modern experience of women in archaeology at 6 p.m. Friday at History Museum Theater using the Washington Avenue entrance of the New Mexico History Museum in Santa Fe. Cost for members is $13, $16 for non members, plus service fees. Purchase tickets through the Lensic Box Office, 988-1234. Tickets also may be purchased at the door.     D’Souza to speak
    at United Church

     Dinesh D’Souza, author of “What’s So Great About Christianity” will be in Los Alamos March 19 and 20 at the United Church of Los Alamos.
    A forum will be from 10 a.m.-
    2 p.m. March 19 and includes lunch. Registration is $30. D’Souza will also speak after the 9:30 a.m. service on March 20, which is free and open to the public.
    Copies of D’Souza’s book will be available at both events.
