The American Legion Post 90 will host this year’s Community Thanksgiving Meal. Dine on a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m. at the American Legion located at 1325 Trinity, that will include oven-roasted turkey, ham, dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, sweet potatoes, green beans, cranberry sauce and a dinner roll. The meal also includes a choice of apple or pumpkin pie. The meal is free, but any donations received will be used to support veterans’ activities. For more information call 662-7772.

The Los Alamos Friends of the Shelter is hosting a special community presentation at 5:30 p.m. in Fuller Lodge. Tammy Feibelkorn, who chairs a state committee on this issue, will talk about The Link Between Animal Abuse and Human Violence, how the State of New Mexico is leading an effort to address this link, and what the community might consider doing in Los Alamos.

 A performance of “Seascape” is set for 2 p.m. at the Los Alamos Little Theatre. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and seniors and are available for advance purchase at CB Fox and also at the door 45 minutes before each performance.

“Running High, Running Low: Trail Running in Copper Canyon and the Jemez,” an illustrated talk by David Coblentz will be at 7 p.m. at Pajarito Environmental Education Center, 3540 Orange St.  Coblentz will describe his running of a 50-mile ultramarathon with the native Tarahumara Indian runners of Mexico and note the geologic similarities and differences between the geology of the Sierra Madres and the Jemez. The talk is free and open to the public.
